From your first phone call to playing out in the field we endeavour to work side by side to ensure everyone’s needs have been met. Chris is every dog’s best friend, his days in the kennels are spent with each dog in mind, whether it be walking, feeding, or playing, everyone is here to have fun. Meanwhile you’ll find Hanna slightly more in the background but always about, her days are spent answering all your enquiries, cleaning down the kennels and looking after our team. Both roles are different but equally just as important, so please take a moment to scroll through our website to see exactly what we’re about.
Here at Fraemar Dog Boarding we are passionate about the care of your dogs. We understand the importance of choosing the right kennels for you and your dog. As dog owners ourselves, we agree there are so many factors to consider when deciding where you feel your dog will receive the best care and attention. So take a moment to browse through our website to see exactly who we are and what we’re about.
From our family to yours. Being a small family ourselves, we have chosen to keep the ten kennels uniquely small and intimate. With both living and working at the farm we can not only provide a high level of safety and security for our guests, but the highest-level care, attention and cuddles. Every day is a new adventure here at Fraemar, being a husband-and-wife team, we have chosen to give each other clear roles within the kennels meaning our guests know exactly what to expect when they see us.
Meet Chris, he is all about the dogs. It was his passion for dogs that first brought us here to Birtle. Chris is everyone’s best friend; he is always on site. His job role includes feeding, playing, and walking.
Hanna is usually the one answering the phone and is predominately the housekeeper. Her day consists of completing the cleaning routine, washing any dirty bedding, and putting out everyone’s bedtime treat. Comfort is her thing.
Our online diary allows both new and existing customers to check our availability at your own convenience. Should you prefer to contact Hanna directly she is always with her phone, if for any reason she doesn’t answer we do recommend sending a quick text detailing your enquiry so she can get back to you as soon as possible.
Existing customers will already have a Parent Portal so you can see all your upcoming bookings and request any necessary changes should they be needed.
First time customers will need to create an account and then send a request through. Once this has been accepted you will then receive an email confirming dates and prices. You will then be asked to book in for a ‘Meet & Greet’. This is a 30 minute appointment in which you and your dog can take a look around the kennels; meet myself and Christopher asking any questions you may have in mind; and take home your 2024 Welcome Pack. Upon meeting your dog for the first time we may request they first be booked in for a Sleepover before a long stay.
Be aware we cannot accept any dog without proof of current vaccinations.
We offer 10 large indoor kennels, 5 of which are big enough to fit up to 3 family pets. Our kennels are designed in such a way they can be cleaned down daily to ensure the utmost comfort, no nasty smells are ever allowed to build up.
Outside we have numerous sized runs, all designed for different purposes. Small areas for feeding, grassed areas for playing, long areas for running. At Fraemar we do encourage socialisation in the outdoor areas, something which we discuss upon booking. We also respect if you wish for your dog’s not to be mixed. Our plans for the outdoor space are ever changing and adapting so watch out summer 2023, winter is here for us to get ready for you.
The exercise paddock is just a short walk away from the outdoor runs meaning we can head over for some fun a couple of times a day.
Day Boarding charges are priced at £22.50 per dog per day; our day runs from 7.30am until 6pm. We do offer a discount on block bookings.
Boarding charges are priced at £28 per day per dog; your stay will include the arrival and departure day. We then offer a 50% discount to any additional family dogs sharing. We cannot offer this discount if you require separate kennels.
Sleepover charges are priced at £30 per sleepover per dog; your stay will run from 11am until 11am the following day. For those who need a full day, the second day will be charged as 2 days at our normal Boarding rate. We then offer a 50% discount to any additional family dogs sharing. We cannot offer this discount if you require separate kennels.
Please note, due to the ever-rising cost of group pet insurance we no longer offer this service which means we maintain the right to contact a vet should it be deemed necessary in the best interest of your dog. Any charges incurred are passed onto the owner, this being payable on collection.
Thank you for choosing us, the health and wellbeing of your dog in our care is the most fundamental part of Fraemar Dog Boarding. We want all dogs to go home well, happy and be excited to arrive on their next stay. We truly believe the magic of Fraemar comes from you.
Chris & Hanna
